Children play outside every day on our rooftop playground. Children run, jump, chase, push wheelbarrows and draw with chalk. We have a large set of custom-built blocks and boxes that the children use to build their own castles, slides, boats and hide-outs. The children plant seeds in the springtime that grow into herbs and vegetables to use for classroom cooking projects. We are lucky, here in the city, to have such a safe and private outdoor space. Whether they are shoveling snow or harvesting green beans, the children really make the roof their own.

 

When it rains,  the children play in the Big Room, our indoor playspace. The Big Room has a padded floor, modular climbing equipment, foam blocks and a wealth of gross motor materials.
